Red Bike is looking for a Membership & Communications Manager to handle several duties within the day-to-day operations of Red Bike. The Membership & Communications Manager will be responsible for all aspects of Red Bike’s membership and riders, from managing the member database, to addressing member concerns and communications; from recruiting new members, to managing the Red Bike Go accessible membership program. They will be responsible for developing and implementing a communications strategy to inform the public about the value of Red Bike and drive more people to ride Red Bike. Ideal candidates will be detail oriented, highly motivated, team focused, friendly individuals with strong customer service and problem-solving skills. The position reports to the Executive Director.

Red Bike is the region’s most fun system of public transportation: A bike sharing system serving Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky with 600 classic and electric-assist bicycles, from 62 stations. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage Red Bike’s membership database, ensuring all members have a smooth onboarding and their needs addressed during their membership, always ensuring positive experiences.
  • Manage the Red Bike Go sign up process, ensuring that new members receive complete information about program details and responsibilities.
  • Coordinate with field staff related to problems with stations or customer service issues that need to be attended to in the field.
  • Implement the marketing and public relations strategy for Red Bike to drive increased ridership and tell the story of Red Bike’s positive impact on the community.
  • Develop marketing materials for print, digital, and social media to support the strategies.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Manage member communication, phone calls, emails, texts, and social media messages.
  • Identify relevant issues and address them to satisfactory and positive outcomes.
  • Daily monitoring of the bike share system through the web-based software in order to support customers.
  • Membership card assignment and distribution program.
  • Develop communications campaigns in conjunction with Executive Director and other team members to ensure a cohesive brand message .
  • Communicate key messages to build public awareness of Red Bike through earned media, social media, e-mail and digital communications, and personal interactions.
  • Manage and maintain Red Bike’s Social Media presence and voice.
  • Manage and develop content for the website.
  • Develop collateral materials to promote Red Bike and its initiatives, such as handouts, flyers, posters, advertisements, etc.
  • Represent Red Bike as a public face of the organization.
  • Respond to media inquiries.
  • Build relationships throughout the community to create partnerships to sell group packages of bike share passes.
  • Develop and implement hotel and convention sales program.

Position Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of office computer software and social media applications.
  • Graphic design skills a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Self-motivated and ability to deal with and meet changing deadlines.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, warehouse/shop environment.
  • Comfortable riding a bicycle in city traffic.
  • Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs. occasionally; cycle up to 10 miles per day in urban areas; stoop, bend, and stand for long periods.
  • Willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends occasionally.
  • Willingness to have fun!
