Volunteer Reports to: Community Empowerment Coordinator

How this Position Supports Common Orchard:

We are looking for more volunteers to join us in growing food and community in Greater Cincinnati and beyond. The Common Orchard Project works to install and maintain hundreds of small orchard plantings across Greater Cincinnati and grows “commonly held” resources by educating communities on fresh food and urban land management. These common orchards provide increased food access, tree canopy, walkable greenspace and community building in neighborhoods that have experienced disinvestment.

A fruit tree and perennial plant nursery that serves as the homebase for regional orchard support has been developed at the Camp Washington Urban Farm. The Nursery Team ensures that we have the appropriate varieties of fruit trees available that will thrive in our area as well as maintains the 25+ species of herbaceous plants and berries. The trees grown at Camp Washington are used in the installation of new community orchards.
