Dr. Clara do Amaral, Assistant Professor of Biology at Mount St. Joseph University, an ecophysiologist and animal behaviorist, will tell us about one of her most popular research topics, “cryoprotectant strategies used by freeze-tolerant frogs, as well as the possible side-effects of cryoprotectant accumulation in these animals “(see MSJU faculty website). Clara has been featured on PRI’s Science Friday (April 27, 2018) and is working with BBC on a documentary featuring organisms that can tolerate extreme environmental pressures.
