Are you ready? Summer 2021 will be HOPPING with opportunities to explore the natural world right outside your backdoor. Join us for a family-friendly evening as we introduce several ways to get involved with citizen science this summer, from apps on your smartphone and to events in the community. This program is designed to get you and your family ready to join us and all of Cincinnati during the weekend of May 1 for the CityNatureChallenge.

During our introductory program on Thursday April 29, together we will discover the importance of biodiversity in our cities and how to explore and document with easy-to-use tools. We will walk you through some apps that will be especially fun this summer, and show how you can be a “citizen scientist.” From cicadas to monarch butterflies to the lowliest plants under foot, we will learn to appreciate the wild world around us, and have a blast while we do it!

This program will combine some lecture slides with hands-on demonstrations about how to use several citizen science apps, including iNaturalist and Cicada Safari. Come back to Gorman Heritage Farm and other organizations for FREE from April 30 - May 1 to participate in the bioblitz called CityNatureChallenge.
