Organization: Mill Creek Alliance
Join the Mill Creek Alliance, Great Parks of Hamilton County, and all our partners this fall for the 9th Annual Upper Mill Creek Cleanup.
Saturday, October 30th at Winton Woods. Clean up by land or canoe. Land volunteers will meet at 9:00 a.m. where folks will divide and conquer trash in the Mill Creek watershed. Canoe volunteers will meet and launch at 8:00 a.m.
This hands dirty, feet wet cleanup will occur in four different locations throughout the park. Be prepared for walking through thick brush and getting muddy. Please dress appropriately (pants, long sleeve shirts, hats/bandanas) and wear closed toe footwear. Sunscreen and bug spray will be available. The land cleanup is suitable for people of all ages and activity levels. Canoe volunteer spaces are limited and available only to members of the public age 18 or older. All cleanup crews will meet around 11 am to unload their spoils, enjoy some food and refreshments, and tell grand stories of their exploits.
In an effort to stay safe during the COVID19 pandemic, we ask that you consider coming alone, with your family, or in groups you feel safe with. Suggestions for safe gathering are changing daily so flexibility is important. At this time we suggest participants wear masks when possible, stay at home if they are not feeling well or have been exposed to someone with COVID19, and/or expect to answer a few safety questions before signing in the day of the event.
MORE DETAILS WILL BE ADDED as they are ironed out. Wherever we go and whatever the activities, you won't want to miss this opportunity to help keep the Mill Creek Watershed clean and communities beautiful!
Please RSVP by registering here. Volunteers will receive scheduling details as the event gets closer. Contact Linda Keller with questions about the event at firstname.lastname@example.org.
