Organization: Cincinnati Nature Center
About this event:
Preregistration required. Our Trail Yoga program is geared for adults and children ages 13 and up with an adult.
Connect to nature in a deeper way through the mindful movement and meditative practices found in yoga. During this on-the-trail experience, participants might draw upon the stability of trees for balancing postures or extend into a turtle pose by the pond. Become part of nature by meditating in a creek, hugging trees, and breaching in the life force around you. All levels are welcome.
What to expect: No prior yoga experience is necessary to enjoy this class. The instructor's goal is to make yoga accessible for everyone using props and variations, as needed. Trails and distances will vary between classes, and we may encounter steps. Intensity is easy to moderate.
Minimum age for children attending with an adult: Children of any age are more than welcome with the understanding that it is an ADULT yoga class, so children under 13 years of age may not be able to do everything or stay interested in the class. Adults will have to decide how much management of their children they are interested in doing.
How to dress: Participants should dress in layered, loose, comfortable athletic clothing. Jeans are NOT recommended. Hiking shoes or gym shoes are recommended.
What to bring: Guests should bring water if the day is hot, and a hiking stick if you have one for fun poses (we will also have plenty of sticks in the forest to use for this purpose as well). A yoga mat is NOT needed.
Registered program participants for Trail Yoga should meet at the Groesbeck parking lot map kiosk (near the Groesbeck Greenhouse) at our Rowe Woods location.
