About this event:

Preregistration required. This program is designed to include older children (ages 10 and up) with later bedtimes (check out the Goodnight Firefly program if you have younger kids). Children must be accompanied by an adult. Please note that this program may not be suitable children with early bedtimes.

Did you know there are many species of fireflies in Ohio? Or that some of them are cannibals, while others don’t even light up? Create a new tradition with us as we discover the magic of an evening firefly light show. Join us for a leisurely hike as we learn about these delightful creatures and discover the magic of a firefly lightshow.

This naturalist led program will highlight the natural history of fireflies as we explore both forest and meadow habitats. Terrain covered will be mostly flat and we’ll move at a leisurely pace.

What to bring: This program takes place entirely outdoors. Participants should wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. Consider bringing a light jacket/rain gear if needed.

Program participants meet at the Krehbiel Family Pavilion, the pavilion just outside our Nature PlayScape at our Rowe Woods location.

Members $7; nonmembers $13 (includes daily admission). Member discount on tickets is only available to members of Cincinnati Nature Center.

More information and tickets can be found here.
