Climate Action Opportunities for County and State Officials

July 13, 12:00-12:30 PM

Join Green Umbrella and the Ohio Environmental Council Action Fund (OEC Action Fund) on 7/13 from 12:00-1:00pm for the next installment of the Regional Climate Action Lunch & Learn Series. This educational session will be discussing how this year's candidates for County Commissioner and State Representative + Senate can address climate issues. Green Umbrella will cover county level action across its 10-county OH-KY-IN region. OEC Action Fund will highlight how state candidates can build climate into their platform and current bills in play at the Ohio statehouse. We will then wrap up with how candidates can take first steps towards a climate platform, OEC AF endorsement next steps, and forthcoming events and opportunities for climate policy action.

This session is free and open to all, including candidates, government officials, community members, community organizations, businesses, and more. This is an opportunity to learn more about what your government and elected officials can do for sustainability, equity, and resilience!

Presenters: Kylie Johnson, Southwest Ohio Regional Director at Ohio Environmental Council Action Fund; Spencer Dirrig, Political Director at OEC Action Fund; OEC Action Fund Policy Leads: Nathan Johnson - Public Lands Director, Nolan Rutschilling - Managing Director of Energy Policy, Chris Tavenor - Staff Attorney, Pete Bucher - Interim Advocacy Center Manager, and Melanie Houston - Interim Water Policy Director; Savannah Sullivan, Climate Policy Director at Green Umbrella
