Thanks for tuning into Green Umbrella’s inaugural Climate Policy newsletter! Our Climate Policy program works with local governments and their communities to help kickstart and accelerate their climate planning and implementation processes.

Since launching one year ago, we’ve engaged 28 unique jurisdictions in partnerships and events, over 100 individual local government staff, and dozens of community partners. We’ve made some exciting programmatic strides including laying the groundwork to launch a Regional Climate Collaborative for our 10-county region, collaborating with Groundwork Ohio River Valley to create an equitable community engagement program for local governments, supporting the development of the 2021 Cincinnati Climate Equity Indicators report, hosting educational webinars with groups like the Center for Local Government, and piloting an elected official engagement series on climate for the Cincinnati elections.

This first newsletter features some 2021 climate action highlights. Moving forward our newsletter and blog will be available for local governments and their communities to learn about climate planning and implementation resources, share resilience successes, and plug in on regional events. Please subscribe to continue receiving these quarterly updates.

Join us on February 16th from 12:00-12:30 pm for our next event, Regional Strategies for Equitable Climate Action in Greater Cincinnati, co-hosted with the Institute for Sustainable Communities. At the event we will announce the next steps for the Regional Climate Collaborative and share how similar collaboratives across the country have approached climate action.

Stay tuned and reach out if you want to get involved. Here's to making Greater Cincinnati more sustainable, equitable and resilient!
