Green Umbrella Welcomes Tyeisha Cole as Climate Policy Coordinator

Green Umbrella is excited to announce the promotion of Tyeisha Cole to the new position of Climate Policy Coordinator. Tyeisha joined our Climate Policy team in April as an intern to research and compare equity-focused frameworks from peer regions’ sustainability plans. This critical work has provided Green Umbrella, the City of Cincinnati and partners with a database of equitable climate solutions for use in the 2023 Green Cincinnati Plan development. Faith Communities Go Green hosts virtual movie screening 6/12

Faith Communities Go Green's Education and Lifestyle working group invites you to a free virtual screening of the documentary THE REVOLUTION GENERATION followed by a half-hour group discussion on Sunday, June 12th from 5:30-7:15 pm. The Revolution Generation paints a powerful and hopeful picture of how today's youth can solve global political and environmental crises. Join FCGG from the comfort of your home and enjoy this refreshing movie that explores the world-changing activism and potential of the largest youth generation in history. Next Week's Sustainability Summit: Livestream and Free Field Trips

While in-person tickets for the Midwest Regional Sustainability Summit on June 16th are sold out, you can still register for the livestream of the main stage. All attendees (in-person and virtual) will also receive recordings of the main stage sessions, including the keynote by Kristin Baja of the Urban Sustainability Directors Network and a plenary panel with mayors from Cincinnati, Dayton, and Lima. Tickets are still available for the Cincinnati 2030 District Summit on June 15th at Union Hall. There are also 15 FREE partner-led field trips on June 17th. The City of Cincinnati is updating the Green Cincinnati Plan, a comprehensive set of goals and recommendations to address climate change and advance the sustainability, equity, and resilience of the city. Help shape the next iteration of the plan by completing the city's community climate and climate action recommendation surveys today.
Keep Cincinnati Beautiful is offering Safe & Clean Grants of $1,000 to $10,000 to fund community-driven problem-solving projects of all kinds, thanks to over $500,000 in funding from the City of Cincinnati's Safe & Clean Neighborhood Fund.
Ohio Department of Development is offering Brownfield Remediation grants for the environmental assessment and remediation of brownfield sites across Ohio.
Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority (SORTA) is offering Transit Infrastructure Fund (TIF) grants to fund roads, bridges, sidewalks, and more, throughout Metro’s Hamilton County service area (due 6/30).
