Tomorrow, Green Umbrella is launching Greater Cincinnati's first Regional Climate Collaborative—a network that will support local governments, organizations, and their communities to design and implement equitable climate solutions across our 10-county region.
This free, informational event will be led by our Climate Policy team and is open to those interested in better understanding our regional climate impacts and finding ways to work together on solutions. Food Policy Council Presents Farm to School Educator Workshop 8/11

Calling educators and school foodservice staff in the Greater Cincinnati Region! Join the Food Policy Council and Hamilton County R3SOURCE at the Hamilton County Fair on August 11th for a Farm to School Educators Workshop: Turn Your Classroom Inside Out. This interactive workshop is geared toward educators at any stage of the Farm to School or garden education experience and will teach participants how to create an impactful food education and garden-based learning program. Our goal is to provide resources to encourage active learning, reinforce connections between local Farm to School work, and promote collaboration between our region’s educators. Meet The Common Orchard Project's Newest Staff Member, Marie Hopkins Calling all educators (school or otherwise) in the Greater Cincinnati Region at any stage of Farm to School or garden ed experience. This opportunity is intended to come together to build community, share insights, and create an outdoor classroom. Turn Your Classroom Inside Out aspires us to practice active learning ourselves: to reinforce the connections between the four main areas of our Farm to School (F2S) work (Edible Education, Garden Knowledge, Workforce Skills and Foodservice + Nutrition Education), and to make connections between our region’s educators and valuable resources. Green Umbrella is happy to introduce our new Common Orchard Project Compost Coordinator, Marie Hopkins! Marie is an active advocate in Cincinnati’s growing composting community and one of the original co-founders of Queen City Commons, a compost collection service focused on deepening relationships between our communities, farms, and soils. Marie is excited to continue building composting infrastructure networks between our organization and partners, and is looking forward to creating more resilient soils and neighborhoods across the Greater Cincinnati area. The Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association (OEFFA) is accepting workshop proposals for their annual conference in February 2023 (due 8/8).
The Ohio Environmental Council (OEC) is hosting the fifth annual Ohio Public Interest Environmental Law Conference in Columbus on September 29th. Attendees can join in-person or virtually.
Flywheel Social Enterprise Hub is accepting applications for the 2022 Sustainable Cincy 8-week accelerator program. Companies accepted to participate will receive a non-dilutive stipend, in addition to a hybrid of online & in-person coaching, and network connections to advance their innovative solutions.
