Next Thursday: Green Drinks for Great Outdoor Weekend

Join us for our September Green Drinks happy hour on Thursday, September 22 at Rhinegeist Brewery as we celebrate the transition from summer to autumn and get geared up for Great Outdoor Weekend, September 24 & 25! We'll be on the rooftop patio (weather permitting) with an indoor backup plan. The first 100 guests will get $1 off their first drink.

As a networking icebreaker, we'll be encouraging guests to share which of the 100+ free Great Outdoor Weekend activities they are excited about. We'll also be raffling off Green Umbrella water bottles and Great Outdoor Weekend t-shirts.

Meet Kelly, Green Umbrella's New Communication Coordinator

Green Umbrella is excited to welcome Kelly Morton to the team! She joins us as our new Core Team Communications Coordinator. Kelly is a marketing and social media specialist with over a decade of experience in event planning, communications, and creative writing. She’s a fervent supporter of green initiatives and especially loves farmers’ markets, local businesses, and dog parks. A Cincinnati native for over 30 years, she is passionate about helping the Queen City thrive. She studied Spanish and Theatre at Miami University and spends her free time performing improvisational theatre, writing plays, and exploring Cincinnati bakeries.

Cincinnati signs Milan Urban Food Policy Pact!

Cincinnati is now a signatory of the Milan Urban Food Policy Pact (MUFPP)! Signed in 2015 by over 100 cities, the MUFPP was initiated by the Mayor of Milan, Italy, with the intention to launch an international protocol aimed at tackling food-related issues at the urban level, to be adopted by as many world cities as possible.

Mayor Aftab says, "We're excited to continue work with partners like the Greater Cincinnati Regional Food Policy Council and other organizations to implement actions set out in the Pact, starting with our focus area of food waste.”
