Ohio Primary Election To Be Mail-In Only - Here's How You Can Vote

There will not be an in-person primary election in Ohio. If you have not yet cast your ballot, you must follow the following steps in order to vote by mail:

    • Applications to request a Vote by Mail ballot can be printed from your county Board of Elections website or can be requested by phone. They are also available at 12 Kroger locations across Cincinnati. The application must be mailed in by April 25, but sooner is better.
    • Your ballot will then arrive in the mail with a return envelope and must be postmarked by April 27 or delivered in-person to your county Board of Elections by April 28.

Hamilton County voters have the opportunity to "Move Forward" and vote for much-needed improvements for our roads and buses. Green Umbrella is proud to endorse Issue 7, which would invest $130 million per year into improving our transportation systemdecreasing the wait time for buses, expanding service hours, allowing for faster trip times and helping our region become cleaner, greener, safer and more equitable.

Cohen Recycling Launches Mail-In Electronics Recycling Program

Taking some time for spring cleaning? Cohen Reycling has made it easier than ever for consumers and businesses to recycle electronics through a new mail-in program.

The service is offered through their R2-certified sister company, Cobalt, which employs rigorous practices to ensure your data is secure. Choose from a variety of package options to print a shipping label and send your phones, tablets, laptops and other electronics in for a small fee.

Cohen has generously offered Green Umbrella members a 10% discount - please email charlie@greenumbrella.org for the code.

Local Food Connection Re-Activates Household Delivery Service

Local Food Connection has relaunched its direct to household sales program in order to help its farmers and food artisans find buyers for their products. There has been a sharp decline of purchases by restaurants and institutions of local food products and the food system has to adjust to find new markets for these products. The team at Local Food Connection sprang into action to minimize lost wages (and wasted food) of their farming partners. You can purchase these awesome products for weekly household delivery (in certain zip codes). Check out the products and order by Sunday night for Tuesday delivery.
