Black Flowers: A Conversation on Equity & the Environment

Black lives mattering isn't just limited to police violence. It also extends to climate and environmental justice. Please join us on July 14 for Black Flowers: A Conversation on Equity and the Environment, with some of Cincinnati's Black and Brown professionals working in this space. In addition to learning about the work they do in Cincinnati, we have special guests who will share perspectives from urban

municipalities across the country and tools that can be used to help assess equity in current or proposed green initiatives. If you are fighting against the injustices happening to and in Black and Brown communities, this event is for you.

Greenspace Gem: Spring Valley Wildlife Area

This Warren County wildlife area north of Waynesville holds an 80-acre lake fringed by wet meadow and marsh, habitats that are rare in the region. The wetlands support infrequently observed animals such as rails and the massasauga, the region's only remaining rattlesnake species (classified as state endangered). Birders have identified more than 230 species here. A 2.5-mile observation trail circles the marsh, and a paved road provides access to the lake.
